As football rage rises, we get fully geared for the fun.
After months of expectation, anticipation and dedication from tens to thousands of people, around the world, finally, the World Cup has actually kicked off.
Along with the rest of the world, our little city too is gearing up for the football season with high spirits. This can be evident moresoever by the high spirits of the football clubs in the city.

Though their everyday practice will religiously continue, they have other plans lined up for every evening of this month.
The Deccan XI club, which practices at BMCC ground, with its 120 members has organised a special screening of all the important matches at a later stage.
Mandar Tamhane, a committee member of the Deccan XI club affirms, "The screening will be organised at a restaurant in Chandni Chowk.
It is open for all the members of the club along with their family and friends." Tamhane also adds that as the football season gets closer, the club gets an incline in the number of new members.

"A lot of young boys between the age group of 9 and 15 years come forward to join the football club, as they get struck by the football fever," says he.
The Knights XI club, which has won the Pune league championship of 2005 - 2006, will be gathering at a committee member's place to watch the matches together...

The team's coach, Pervez F Shaikh says, "The team practices in the mornings at BJ Medical College ground. In the evenings, we all will get together at a committee member's place to watch the matches on a Plasma TV."
The Ghorpadi Young Ones Club that practices on the army ground at Ghorpadi has a more educational approach towards the football world cup.
The club secretary, Ashok Kutty, says, "We all will gather at a friends place to watch the matches everyday. The next day, we will discuss the strategies and positions from an educational point of view."
The team is rooting for Brazil, and is confident that it will win the cup.
The football fever has also spread across all the pubs in the town, where one of the topmost players in football, Faizal Razack will be cheering for his favourite team, France.
"I will be at a pub watching the matches with my friends. I will also be getting Dish TV installed at home, so that I can watch the matches at home in comfort. It will be either of the two."
So, all you people out there who have caught the football fever, get your beers out, get glued to the television and cheer your favourite team!
